Social Value and Sustainability

The UK Government’s National Public Procurement Statement made clear that contracting authorities must consider social value outcomes in their procurements, including of creation of new businesses, jobs and skills, improving supplier diversity and tackling climate change and reducing waste.

This will mean suppliers must learn how to hardwire social value and sustainability into their tenders, while buyers will need to be aware of how they can accurately evaluate those areas and leverage them to support priority national and local outcomes for the public benefit.

The Social Value and Sustainability Zone will feature a series of knowledge and training sessions outlining how organisations can measure and manage social value, how sustainability can be built into contracts and tenders, and provide case studies of successful social value and sustainability outcomes in procurement actions.
